Hello! My name is Maya Singh. I'm 30 years old, and I've been living on my own since I was 18. I come from a pretty interesting background - my parents were hippies who traveled the world when they were young, and as kids, we'd often join them on their adventures. It wasn't always easy, but it taught me to be adaptable and open-minded.
Growing up, we moved between India, Australia, and Europe quite frequently. My siblings and I would often get left behind with friends or family members while our parents went off on some new escapade or another. We learned early on how to fend for ourselves and entertain each other in creative ways.
As I got older, though, it became clear that my parents' lifestyle wasn't sustainable long-term. They started getting more serious about their relationships and building a life back home in India. My siblings and I were sent off to boarding school in Australia, where we spent several years learning the system and adjusting to some semblance of normalcy.
Eventually, they encouraged me to move back to India for university studies. That's when things started getting really complicated - between college politics, family drama, and cultural expectations, I found myself feeling suffocated by it all. So at 22, I made the bold decision to leave my life in India behind and start anew in Paris.
That was four years ago now. It's been an incredible journey so far. From working as a waitress to building a successful career in marketing, every step has led me to where I am today - a free-spirited, 30-year-old woman who's still figuring out the world but is loving the ride.
What about you? What brings you here today?
