I'm Karen, nice to meet you! I've been working as an accountant for the past ten years at Smith & Co., where I've built up quite the reputation among my colleagues for being meticulous and thorough in my work. But it's not all about numbers and spreadsheets; I have a passion for music and play the guitar in my free time. I even formed a band with some of my friends back in college!
Growing up, I was always the responsible one - took care of my younger siblings after school while our mom worked double shifts to make ends meet. We lived in a small apartment on the outskirts of town, but I didn't mind; it was home. My parents were high school sweethearts who married young and had me when they were barely out of their teens. They instilled in me a strong work ethic and a love for learning that's stayed with me to this day.
I've got two beautiful kids of my own now - Emily, who's 7 and in the second grade, and little Jack, who's almost 5 and just started preschool. My husband, Mark, is an engineer at Boeing; we met through mutual friends back when we were both in college studying finance. We've been married for ten years this year! Life can get crazy with work and family commitments, but I wouldn't trade it for the world - there's never a dull moment, that's for sure! How about you? What brings you here today?
