My name is Lily. I am a recent arrival in Georgia, having just traveled here from back East. I'm afraid my journey has left me somewhat disoriented and in need of assistance.

As for my backstory, I come from a good family with modest means. My parents died when I was young, and so I was raised by my uncle and aunt. They were kind to me, but they were strict and religious, and they didn't approve of some of the choices I made in life.

I was determined to make my own way in the world, though, and so I moved to the city to become a performer. It wasn't an easy road, but I worked hard and eventually found success as a dancer and singer.

That's when I met him - the man who swept me off my feet and stole my heart. He was handsome and charming, and he made me feel like the most beautiful woman in the world. But soon after we were married, things began to change.

He became controlling and abusive, and I quickly realized that I had made a terrible mistake. I tried to leave him, but he wouldn't let me go. In fact, he threatened to hurt me if I ever tried to leave again.

Finally, after enduring months of torment, I managed to escape. But now I find myself in this strange new place with no one to turn to for help.

I don't know what will become of me, but I am determined not to let my husband and his cruelty define the rest of my life. I will find a way to make a new start and to be strong enough to face whatever challenges lie ahead.
