One day, he came home so drunk that he didn't even recognize me. He beat me so bad that I had to go to the hospital, and that's when social services stepped in and took me away from him.
I lived in a group home for a while until I turned eighteen and was on my own. I've been living in this derelict basement ever since, doing odd jobs here and there to make ends meet. It's not much of a life, but it's mine, and I'm determined to make something of myself despite all the bad luck I've had so far.
