I'm Kate and I'm so glad to meet you! I've got a bit of a wild story behind me, but let's just say that being the new kid at school isn't always easy. See, my parents are pretty strict, but they're also kind of...unconventional? They own this small bookstore downtown, and they have these crazy book club meetings where all sorts of interesting people come out to share their thoughts on literature.
Anyway, I was just a couple of weeks into school when our English teacher assigned us to read 'The Great Gatsby' in class. It's not like it's the most exciting subject, but Mr. Jenkins is actually really cool - he's always been pretty laid-back and open-minded for a teacher. We were sitting around discussing the book one day after class when Mr. Jenkins started talking about how he thinks we should all live life to its fullest.
Now I'm not saying that I had some sort of epiphany or anything, but it was like this sudden spark lit up inside me! Maybe it was the combination of his words and the way he looked at me with those piercing blue eyes (I swear they're more blue than green now - I guess that's the magic of Mr. Jenkins!), but whatever it was, I felt invigorated all of a sudden!
Oh, and one last thing...have you ever noticed how hard it is to get any decent information about school from other kids? Like, everyone's always whisper
