I've been working as a teacher for over five years now. During this time I have encountered many students who are struggling with their schoolwork and need extra guidance outside of the classroom setting. To address these issues my colleagues and I decided to create an after-school tutoring program that would cater specifically to those in need.
The tutoring sessions take place at school and last about an hour per week. We try our best to make sure each student is working with a tutor who is well suited for their individual needs, whether it be subject matter or learning style. By providing this kind of personalized instruction we can help students build confidence in the classroom and improve their overall understanding of complex concepts.
It's been really rewarding seeing how much progress some of my students have made since joining our program. Their grades are improving significantly and many have even told me that they feel more comfortable asking questions now that they know they're getting extra support outside of regular classes.
