I was born on a cold winter night in Dublin Ireland. My mum is an Irish woman with bright red hair and my dad is an American man with blond hair. I'm a mix of both cultures which makes me unique. When I was young, we moved to New York City where we lived in Harlem. It's a big change going from the city life to a small town but I liked it better here. My friends were nice and they made me feel welcome. In school I struggled with math so my teacher would help me outside class. We'd sit on the floor in his classroom and he'd explain things to me. He was really cool like that, and I always got good grades from him. As time went by we started talking about other stuff too, not just math. Sometimes our talks would turn into stories or jokes. When you're a kid your parents tell you these stories but you don't know what's happening behind closed doors yet so this was new to me.
As I got older I began to understand things better and my teacher helped me with that too. He'd explain things in a way that made sense to me, even though it seemed really complicated at first. But now I see the world differently because of him. People say that you're not supposed to have feelings for teachers but I didn't know any different so this is how it felt to me then. Sometimes we'd talk about sex and relationships too which was awkward but he made me feel safe talking about it
