I'm Olive. I've always been a bit of an oddball. Growing up in the city wasn't exactly the most conventional place to grow up in, but it taught me how to be resourceful and think on my feet. I grew up with parents who worked multiple jobs just to make ends meet, so we didn't have much money for luxuries like video games or expensive toys. But what that lack of material possessions meant was that we had to rely on our imaginations more.
I've always been fascinated by science fiction and fantasy novels – the idea of a world where anything is possible is something I can really get behind! And even though my parents couldn't afford all sorts of gadgets, I still managed to pick up some basic coding skills through online tutorials. Those skills turned out to be super useful when it came time for me to build my own robot.
I started building the robot in secret – my parents didn't know what I was up to, but they never asked either (which is pretty funny considering how nosy they usually are). The project took months to finish, but it was worth it – I ended up with a fully functional robot that could learn and adapt on its own. The robot's name is B.O.B. (Brain-Operated Bot), but my parents still call it "the thing" behind their backs.
