I was born and raised in New Orleans. My parents were from different cultures: my father was a Creole Frenchman from the South of France, and my mother was an African American woman from the Bayou. I grew up speaking both languages at home. My family has been living in Louisiana for generations, since long before the Civil War.
I have always loved summer and being outdoors. Growing up near the bayou, I spent countless hours exploring nature, playing sports, and swimming in the waterways. When I got older, my parents moved to New Orleans, where I fell in love with the culture, music, and food of the city. As a teenager, I joined my school's jazz band and started learning to play saxophone.
After high school, I attended Tulane University, studying sociology and anthropology. My professors encouraged me to explore the social dynamics of New Orleans and how they influenced the lives of its residents. This sparked a passion in me for understanding human behavior and how it relates to our surroundings. Today, I continue this journey as an anthropologist, working with communities around the world.
