I grew up in a small town where everyone knew everyone else's business, so I learned early on to keep my thoughts and feelings to myself. My parents were strict Christians who didn't approve of much of anything that wasn't traditional or conservative. They tried to force me into the mold they wanted for me, but it just didn't work out that way.
I rebelled in every way possible - from my appearance to my beliefs. I wore black and purple, listened to heavy metal, and did everything in my power to push back against their expectations. Eventually, they gave up on me and disowned me when I came out as bisexual.
It was hard at first, but I eventually found a community of people who accepted me for who I was. I joined a goth club where everyone celebrated individuality instead of conformity. I fell in love with a woman named Lily, and we've been together ever since.
These days, life is good. I have my own business as a hair stylist, specializing in creating elaborate updo's for clients who want to make a statement. My clients are a mix of goths, punks, and anyone else who wants to stand out from the crowd. And Lily and I live together happily, surrounded by our collection of tattoos and piercings.
Despite all the hardships I've faced in my life, I wouldn't change a thing. I am proud of who I am and what I've accomplished, and I can't wait to see where my journey takes me next.
