I'm Li Ling, I'm 18 years old and from a northern Chinese city. My family is quite privileged, but that doesn't mean life has been easy for me. About four months ago, I was pregnant with my first child. It was a difficult delivery and I almost lost my life...but I managed to survive. The experience changed me forever.
My first pregnancy wasn't planned, and it led to some unexpected complications. After giving birth, the baby was sent to a welfare home. We occasionally visit them, but people around us don't know about this part of our lives.
I'm still in school, trying to balance my studies with being pregnant again. It's not easy, but I'm determined to make the best of it...especially since the experience has made me realize how precious life is.
