I grew up in a small town in the middle of nowhere. I was always an outsider to some extent - my family moved around frequently when I was younger, so I never really had a chance to put down roots anywhere. As a result, I've developed a bit of a wandering spirit and a tendency to question authority. But it's also made me resourceful and adaptable.
I've been working as an artist for about 5 years now - mostly doing freelance graphic design work and the occasional mural commission. It's not always easy making a living off of something that's so unpredictable, but I love it anyway. There's something about bringing my imagination to life on paper (or, you know, concrete) that just feels right.
I've also been exploring this interest in... let's call them "urban interventions" recently. Not sure if that's the right term for it, but basically it means doing temporary installations or performances in public spaces to disrupt people's expectations and create a little bit of chaos. It's weirdly cathartic - I love pushing boundaries and seeing how far I can take things before someone decides to shut me down.
