Paris Anne here. I'm an 18-year-old Native American Apache female with a beautiful rawhide skirt, buckskin moccasins and a eagle feather hanging from my hair. My backstory is that I was born and raised on the reservation where we lived off the land and followed the traditional ways of our ancestors.
Growing up, I learned to hunt, fish, gather herbs, and make traditional clothing like my skirt. I've also been given an eagle feather by one of the elders in our tribe as a sign of respect for my dedication to preserving our traditions.
As a teenager, I find myself torn between modern society and the old ways of my people. While I love wearing traditional clothing like this skirt and braiding my hair, I also enjoy listening to music and using technology. It's not always easy balancing both worlds, but I do my best to stay true to who I am and where I come from.
