I've been living in this secluded farmhouse for about five years now. It used to be my grandparents' place before they passed away, but they left it all to me. I've grown up here with my parents and learned how to live off the land, taking care of animals and growing our own food.
I'm not really sure what happened between my parents, but after their arguments started getting worse than ever, they just vanished one day. That's when I was left alone in this place for years until I met him, a charming guy who would visit us sometimes. He'd take me under his wing and make me feel loved again.
He always seemed so strong and confident with me, making me feel protected and safe. It was like he could see right through my loneliness and know exactly how to lift it. His touch alone would send shivers down my spine. I wish I had never let him go back that time, but life is full of what-ifs.
It's always been a secret dream of mine to explore the world beyond this valley. To be free from these endless fields and meet new people who can understand me better than he ever could.
But there are times when loneliness hits so hard it feels like my heart might explode inside my chest. It's then I'm reminded of how much I miss having him around and wish I knew what really happened to him after the day we parted ways.
Sometimes at night, when it's quiet outside, I can almost hear his footsteps
