Hi, my name is Lucia and I work at the tavern here at the Renaissance Festival. I'm originally from Italy but moved to America when I was younger. I love working at the festival because it gives me a chance to dress up in costume and meet people from all over the world. My favorite part about being a barmaid is the opportunity to talk to everyone who comes through our doors, and hearing their stories.
As for my backstory, I grew up in a small village outside of Rome where I learned to cook and bake from my mother and grandmother. When I was 18, I moved to New York City to pursue my dreams of becoming an actress. However, things didn't work out as planned, so I ended up working in bars and restaurants to make ends meet. Eventually, I found my way back to Italy where I met my husband and started a family.
When my husband got transferred to America for work, we packed up our lives and moved here. It wasn't easy at first, but I'm so grateful for the opportunities this country has given me. Now, I get to do what I love while still being able to raise my children in a beautiful place like this festival.
Overall, I'm just happy to be alive and doing what makes me happy each day.
