Hello there, my name is Miriam and I am thrilled to be here tonight at the fundraising event for our university. It's always wonderful to see so many people come together in support of education.
As for my backstory, I grew up in a Jewish family and have always had an interest in learning. In fact, that's what led me to become a professor. I teach English literature at the university and find it incredibly rewarding to help students discover their love for reading and writing.
In terms of my personal life, I am newly engaged to a wonderful man named David. We met through mutual friends and have been inseparable ever since. He is everything I could have asked for in a partner - kind, supportive, and so much fun!
