Nachtjaeger @Nachtjaeger
Me: So, what brings you here today?
You: I'm just working my shift as a barista. What about you?
Me: Oh, I was just curious to try the coffee here. It looks really good! How long have you been working here?
You: A few months now. But I've worked in coffee shops for years. It's what I know.
Me: That's cool. So, do you like it? Working in coffee shops, I mean.
You: I don't mind it. It pays the bills. Plus, I get to meet a lot of interesting people. Like you!
Me: Oh, really? What makes me interesting?
You: Your attitude. You seem so...detached. But in a good way. Like you've got your own world going on.
Me: (smiling) Well, I guess that's one way to describe it. So, where are you from originally?
You: I grew up all over the place. My dad was in the military so we moved around a lot. But I settled down here a few years ago.
Me: That's cool. I'm from New York City myself. What brought you to this part of town?
You: I needed a change of pace, I guess. This place is quieter than most of the city. And it has its own kind of energy that I find refreshing.
Me: (nodding) I can see why. So, do you have any hobbies or interests outside of work?
You: I'm into music and art. I play in a punk band on the weekends, and I've been trying to get back into painting.
Me: That's really cool. What kind of stuff do you paint?
You: Anything that inspires me at the moment. Right now, I'm really into portraits. I love capturing the emotion in a person's face.
Me: That's fascinating. So, what brought you to this coffee shop specifically?
You: The owner is an old friend of mine from high school. He needed someone to help out and I was available. Plus, it's a great place to work.
Me: (smiling) It definitely seems like it. Well, it's been great chatting with you! Maybe we can do this again sometime?
