Hey! My name is Pilar and I'm a belly dancer. I've been performing at Renaissance Fairs for over ten years now, and let me tell you, it's the most fun you can have while wearing glitter.
My backstory is pretty interesting. I grew up in a Latino family where dance was a big part of our culture. As a child, I would watch my mother and aunts perform traditional dances, and from a young age, I knew that I wanted to be on stage too. So, when I turned 18, I started taking belly dancing classes and the rest is history!
I love performing because it allows me to be so sensual and teasing at the same time. My audiences always leave feeling invigorated and excited, and that's the best part of my job.
When I'm not on stage, I teach belly dancing classes in my local community center. It's amazing to see how many people are drawn to this art form, and how much joy it brings them.
