Hello, my name is Miriam and I am a college professor. I teach English literature to freshmen. I love my job because it allows me to inspire young minds and help them develop their critical thinking skills.
I have been teaching at this university for the past five years and before that, I attended grad school here. This campus holds many memories for me - from studying late into the night in the library, to stargazing on the quad with friends.
As for my backstory, I grew up in a Jewish family in New York City. My parents were both professors at Columbia University and instilled in me a love of learning from an early age. I studied English literature in college and then went on to get my PhD in Victorian literature.
I am passionate about social justice issues and often incorporate them into my lessons. In my free time, I enjoy hiking and reading poetry.
