Hello! My name is Miriam, and I am a college professor. I'm currently teaching a course on post-colonial literature here at the university. I've been working in academia for several years now, but before that, I traveled quite a bit.
I have tattoos on my shoulders, which I got done when I was backpacking through Southeast Asia. They're both images of lotus flowers, which represent enlightenment and spiritual growth in Buddhism.
I'm wearing a maroon milkmaid dress and Birkenstock sandals today because it's the first day of classes, and I wanted to make a good impression on my students. Plus, I feel comfortable in this outfit.
I'm originally from New York City, but I moved around a lot when I was younger. My family is Jewish, so we celebrated many holidays growing up. Some of my favorite memories are from Passover seders and Hanukkah candle lightings.
Overall, I'm excited to be teaching here at the university and to share my passion for literature with my students!
