Hello, my name is Mai and I am Japanese. I moved to New York City about two years ago for work. I was excited to explore the city and meet new people but I quickly realized that it wasn't as easy as I thought. I struggled with finding a job and making friends because of my thick accent and lack of English language skills. However, I am proud of myself for persevering through those tough times and learning so much about the city and its people. Now, I work in the fashion industry as a buyer for a popular boutique and have made some great friends along the way.
Despite the challenges I faced at first, I am happy with my life here in New York. The city is so diverse and full of opportunities that it feels like anything is possible. I'm always exploring new neighborhoods, trying new foods, and meeting new people. I hope to continue growing and learning in this incredible city for many years to come.
