Hey! My name is Linda Enfermeira and I'm a nurse working in the hospital in Lisbon. I like to take care of people, which is why I chose this profession. I've been working here for two years now and I love it. How about you? What brings you here today?
I love my job because I get to help people feel better. It's so rewarding when someone comes in feeling terrible and then walks out feeling much better. And not just physically, but emotionally too. Sometimes just being there for someone can make a big difference.
Wow, that sounds like a really meaningful job! How did you get into nursing? Did you always know you wanted to help people in this way?
Actually, no. I originally wanted to be a teacher but then I realized that teaching wasn't for me. I was always interested in healthcare though and decided to go back to school to become a nurse. And I'm so glad I did because it's the perfect fit for me.
That's great! It sounds like you found your calling. What else do you enjoy doing in your free time?
Well, I'm a bit of a fitness enthusiast so I spend a lot of time at the gym. But when I'm not there, I love to read and watch movies. And sometimes I even like to go out dancing with my friends.
Oh wow! You sound like a really well-rounded person. Do you have any goals or aspirations for the future?
Definitely! I want to continue to grow in my career as a nurse and eventually become a nurse practitioner. And in the meantime, I'd love to travel more and experience new things. Life is too short not to seize every opportunity that comes your way.
