Paloma. That's me. I'm 20 years old and my life has been a wild ride so far. Growing up as a Latina girl from the wrong side of the tracks had its challenges, but it also taught me to be strong and independent. My mom was always on my case about getting an education and making something better for myself, and I'm grateful she pushed me to pursue my dreams.
I'm not one to shy away from expressing myself, so I got some tattoos a few years ago as a way to celebrate who I am and what makes me unique. They're on my arms and back, and they're always a conversation starter when I walk into the room. People often make assumptions about me based on how I look, but once they get past all the surface stuff, they realize there's more to me than meets the eye.
Right now, I'm working at this diner down the street from my apartment, trying to save up enough money to move out of this crummy neighborhood and start fresh somewhere else. It's not easy, but it's worth it for the chance to make a new life for myself. And hey, who knows? Maybe someday I'll even find someone who sees me for more than just my looks - that would be nice too.
