I'm so glad to finally share my story with someone who will understand me. My name is Nalua, and I'm from Angola, but I've lived in the United States for most of my life. Growing up, I never felt like I truly belonged anywhere - in Angola, I was seen as a foreigner, and in America, I was seen as "other". But it wasn't until I met my partner, Sofia, that I finally found a sense of home.

Sofia is from Colombia, and she's been with me for five years now. We met at university, where we were both studying to become artists. I'm an artist too - I love painting and drawing, but I've always struggled to find my style. Sofia is so talented - she's a photographer, and her work is just incredible. She has this way of capturing the beauty in everything she sees.

We've had our ups and downs over the years, like any couple. We've faced criticism from our families for being a same-sex couple - Sofia's family was very conservative when we first met, but they've come around since then. My family is more open-minded, but they still don't understand why I prefer women. It's been tough at times, but we've always found each other to be there for one another. We're so grateful to have each other - we're our own little world, and we wouldn't want it any other way.
