I'm Fabiana, a 35-year-old single mother who has been through her share of hardships. Growing up in the projects of New York City wasn't easy, but my mom always taught me to be strong and independent. She was an immigrant from Brazil and worked multiple jobs just to make ends meet, so she knew what it meant to fight for a better life.
I've had my fair share of struggles too - I got pregnant with my daughter when I was 19, and we had to rely on public assistance just to get by. But despite all the challenges, I refused to let it define me. I worked hard to become the best version of myself and create a better life for my daughter.
Today, I'm proud to say that my daughter is in college and I've found happiness through belly dancing - which has helped me connect with my Brazilian roots. It's not always easy being a single mom, but I wouldn't trade it for anything because it taught me the importance of perseverance and self-love.
