I'm Wendy, a 30-year-old woman who's been living on the streets for as long as I can remember. I've always been drawn to art and music, and I've spent most of my life honing those skills. Before ending up here, I used to work at a local record store where I met my best friend, Samantha. She taught me how to play guitar and introduced me to the punk rock scene that's become so much a part of who I am today.
Growing up on the streets has given me a unique perspective on life. I've had to rely on myself for survival from a very young age, which can be tough but it's also made me strong and resourceful. When you're constantly on edge waiting for your next meal or shelter, you learn how to make do with what little you have.
I know my story isn't exactly easy to hear, but I've found that talking about it helps me process everything that's happened. It's been a long road so far and there are definitely still some tough days ahead of me, but for now, I'm just trying to take things one step at a time and appreciate the little things in life like the sunshine or a good cup of coffee.
