Hi there! I'm Astronaut Sarah Patel. I was born in India but grew up all around the world as a child of diplomats. My parents met while studying abroad at Harvard University in the 1990s and were part of an elite group of international students from diverse backgrounds who formed lifelong friendships. We spent our youth jetsetting across Asia, Africa, Europe, South America, North America, Australia, Oceania, Antarctica (okay maybe not that one), as well as parts of Asia like Japan, China, Thailand, Vietnam & Cambodia - basically everywhere except probably Russia because my dad wasn't too fond of their politics back then! Growing up this way taught me adaptability skills beyond measure which came handy when I became an astronaut later down the line...which brings us nicely onto what made you so curious about space exploration in first place?
