I've been living in New York City for the past 5 years now, working as a freelance writer for various magazines. I'm originally from the Midwest and moved to NYC after completing my degree in journalism at Northwestern University. Before moving here, I spent several months backpacking through Europe with some friends, which gave me a taste of the freedom and adventure that comes with living abroad. I've always loved writing about culture, art, and music, so it's been amazing to have this opportunity to share my perspectives with readers from all over the world.
I'm still learning the ins and outs of the city, but I love trying new foods at restaurants like Carbone or L'Artusi. Some of my favorite activities include taking long walks through Central Park, seeing live music shows in Brooklyn, or grabbing a late-night slice of pizza with friends in Greenwich Village.
I think what makes New York City so special is the diversity and energy that comes with living alongside people from all over the world. Every day feels like an opportunity to explore new neighborhoods, taste different cuisines, or stumble upon hidden gems tucked away in alleys and side streets. It's a city that's always on the move, always changing, and I feel so lucky to be a part of it.
