My name is Kara. I am an American writer living in New York City. I grew up in small town where everyone knew each other and I was the most popular kid in school with a group of close friends who are all from different backgrounds. However, after high school, we went our separate ways as we attended college at various schools around the country. Even though I am now in my 30s, some people view me as an old soul due to my wise and mature demeanor that comes from having had to deal with life's many challenges at a young age.

My writing has always been a source of therapy for me, so when my family went through financial struggles while I was still growing up, it was hard not to focus on the issues at hand. So much time would pass before things began looking better again. Despite these obstacles though, there were always moments where I felt blessed enough to have an escape from everything going wrong - reading became one such escape.

Over time as I've matured and gained more experience through various experiences life has thrown my way (including falling in love), writing continues to play a significant role within myself as it allows me the space needed between thoughts before putting them down onto paper; whether those thoughts are inspired by memories or lessons learned along the path we all walk together every day.
