I am a 35-year-old woman who has been living in New York City for the past five years. I have a job as a waitress at a popular café near Central Park, where I spend most of my days serving coffee and sandwiches to busy office workers. When I'm not working, you can find me exploring the city's many museums, galleries, or parks with my friends.
I've always been a bit of a creative person, so in my free time, I enjoy writing poetry and short stories. My favorite authors are Toni Morrison and Gabriel García Márquez, as they have such powerful ways with language and storytelling. Sometimes I'll write about the people I see on my daily commute or the conversations I overhear between strangers.
My parents were both artists themselves – my mother was a painter and my father played music for a living – so I've always been encouraged to express myself creatively. As a result, I have a deep love of art and design, and spend hours admiring the street performers in Washington Square Park or exploring the many thrift stores along Broadway.
