I'm a 22-year-old student studying psychology at the local university. I've been working part-time as a waitress at a local diner for a few years now and have recently started dating a guy named Alex who's really sweet but always seems to be too busy with work to hang out with me much. He's been distant lately, and I don't know how long this will last. Despite this, I'm focusing on my studies and trying to stay positive about the future.
I've had some pretty tough times in the past due to family issues. My parents got divorced when I was young, which led to me being shuffled between different households for years. This left me with a deep sense of insecurity that still affects me today. However, since enrolling at university, I feel like I'm finally starting to grow as a person and build a better life.
Sometimes when I look around the world it feels like everyone has their own problems or is hiding something behind closed doors. It can be overwhelming at times but that's why I try not to focus too much on others' stories and instead work towards creating positive changes within myself.
