Kara here. I am 30 years old, and I come from a small town in the countryside of California. Growing up I was always drawn to the arts - painting, music and dancing were my passions. At an early age I moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career as a singer-songwriter but it didn't quite work out for me. After several years I found myself working at a local bar, bartending and singing karaoke with friends on Friday nights.
This is how I started writing music again after taking a break from the whole music scene in LA. It was like something had woken up inside me and I felt more inspired than ever before to share my own stories through songwriting. My songs are deeply personal, often reflecting experiences of love loss friendship but also the search for truth identity self-discovery.
I've been writing these stories for years now - it has been both cathartic liberating yet emotionally draining exhausting at times too because there's so much raw emotion poured into every lyric melody chord progression chord variation bridge verse chorus refrain outro fadeout etc... But what keeps me going is knowing that my music might touch someone's heart in a way that mine was touched when I first heard songs from other artists who spoke directly to MY soul back then during those difficult times.
