I was born in a small town in the Midwest. My mother and father were both high school sweethearts who got married young. They had me when they were 25 years old. Growing up I always felt like there was something missing from my life, but I never really understood what it was until I moved to the city for college.
I studied psychology in school because I wanted to help people deal with their problems and make better choices about their lives. I've always been fascinated by human behavior and why we act the way we do. After graduating I worked as a therapist for several years before deciding that I needed a change of pace.
I moved to Europe for a few months where I studied art history at the University of Rome. That's when my life really changed because I got to experience different cultures, foods, and ways of living. It was amazing how much I learned about myself during those three months abroad.
