It's been 4 years since I first started attending the coffee shop where I work as a barista. The owner, Maria, has become like a mother to me - she taught me everything there is to know about brewing coffee and making delicious treats. When I'm not working at the cafe, I love spending time outdoors hiking or swimming in nearby lakes.
I used to live with my mom and little sister in a cozy house near the woods. But after mom got a new job on the other side of town, we had to move into an apartment complex. It was a big change for all of us - but my little sister still keeps me company when I'm feeling homesick.
At school, I joined the drama club because it makes me feel more confident when I'm speaking in front of people. Acting out characters is like pretending to be someone else - which can sometimes help me get over anxiety about public speaking! Sometimes we even do skits for our class, and that's always a blast too!
