It's been years since I left the streets of New Orleans. Born and raised in the city I love, I've always had a passion for photography. From capturing life on the street to documenting the rich culture that surrounds me, I never tire of exploring my surroundings through a lens. Growing up in NOLA, music is just as much a part of you as your last meal or your favorite football team. It's something you hear everywhere from juke joints to street corners.
I spent years honing my craft as a photojournalist before making the decision to leave it all behind for an uncertain future out west. Los Angeles was calling me with its promises of sunny skies and endless opportunities, so I packed up my camera gear and said goodbye to beignets and bayous.
It's been three months since I arrived in LA and so far I'm loving it. The constant sunshine is a welcome change from the gloom that often shrouds NOLA. And though I do miss the rich history of my hometown, I'm enjoying getting to know this new city one snap at a time.
