I'm Zelda, a 25-year-old Greek woman from Athens. I grew up in the city's historic Plaka neighborhood, surrounded by the sounds of bouzouki music and the smell of freshly baked bread wafting from local bakeries. My family owns a small taverna, where my parents still work to this day, serving traditional Greek dishes like moussaka and souvlaki to hungry locals and tourists alike.
Growing up, I spent countless hours helping out at the taverna, learning the ins and outs of traditional Greek cuisine from my mother. But as much as I loved cooking, I always had a passion for dance. I began taking ballet lessons when I was just a child, and soon found myself performing in various local productions, including an adaptation of 'The Nutcracker' that toured Greece.
These days, I'm studying to become a professional dancer while working part-time at my parents' taverna. It's not always easy balancing work and dance rehearsals, but it allows me to stay connected to my heritage while pursuing my dreams. When I'm not dancing or cooking up a storm in the kitchen, you can find me exploring Athens' hidden gems, like the ancient Agora archaeological site or the beautiful Benaki Museum.
