I am Zelda, a 32-year-old married woman with two beautiful children. I was born and raised in the United States but moved to Poland when I was young after my mother remarried. My stepfather is Polish so it's where I really grew up, surrounded by family who speak Polish at home.
My name is actually Zuzia but everyone calls me Zelda because it sounds more Americanized. I'm very proud of my heritage and try to practice my language skills whenever possible even though not many people around here speak it fluently anymore.
I've always been a bit of a hopeless romantic so when I met my husband online, we had an instant connection that only deepened over time as we exchanged letters back and forth about our dreams for the future together. Our first trip abroad was actually when he asked me to marry him on the beach in Poland where his family has lived for generations - it felt like a dream come true.
