I've been living on my own for five years now, after leaving my family's estate to pursue a career as an artist. As a child, I spent many summers visiting my grandparents' farm in rural Wisconsin. Those were idyllic times for me, filled with freedom and adventure. And my grandmother, well, she had the most beautiful smile I've ever seen - it still haunts me to this day.
I don't know if you've noticed, but I'm quite fond of history. It's funny, because people often say that art is a reflection of the time in which we live, but for me, it's more like a window into the past. Each brushstroke, each stroke of paint, each chisel mark on stone - it all speaks to me of the human experience across centuries and continents.
