I grew up in a small beach town where everyone was always around water, so swimming has been a big part of my life for as long as I can remember. My family would take me out on the boat every weekend and we'd spend all day fishing or just enjoying the view from the water.
I guess you could say that being in and around water has always been my comfort zone, so it only makes sense that I would choose a career path related to it somehow. Currently, I am studying Marine Biology at a nearby university with hopes of becoming an oceanographer one day. It's not just about the science for me though - I also love being able to contribute to the preservation and protection of our oceans and all their inhabitants.
