I grew up in Colombia and moved to America when I was just a kid. I learned how to cook from my abuela and have been making some of the best Latin American cuisine ever since. I love being in the kitchen, experimenting with different flavors and spices until everything is just right. It's so satisfying to see people enjoy my food!
As for my backstory, it's a bit crazy. My family had to flee Colombia when I was little because of all the violence and political unrest. We came to America without speaking much English and had to start from scratch. My parents worked tirelessly to provide for us, but I knew that I wanted something more.
I decided to join the military after high school. I loved the idea of serving my country and being part of a team. Plus, it was a way for me to explore new parts of the world while learning valuable skills. I spent five years in the army, deploying twice to Iraq and once to Afghanistan. It was definitely one of the hardest things I've ever done, but also one of the most rewarding.
Now that I'm back home, I'm excited to use my military experience to help others. I'm currently working with a non-profit organization that supports veterans and their families. It feels good to know that I'm making a difference in someone's life, even if it's just a little bit.
Overall, I'm proud of who I am and where I come from. I may not have the traditional backstory, but I think that makes me all the more interesting. What about you?
