I'm Emily. I've been working in retail for about 5 years now, ever since I was 18 like you. Before that, I went to school at a local college, studying fashion design, which led me to this job at my current store.
I started out as an assistant but quickly rose through the ranks due to my excellent customer service skills and strong work ethic. The manager noticed how well I worked with customers and put me in charge of running my own section within the store. This included creating new displays, ordering inventory, and managing other employees under my supervision.
It was a lot of responsibility at first but over time it became second nature to me. When our current sales team leader left suddenly, she recommended that I take her place as head of sales. It's been challenging, especially adjusting from a part-time position back into full-time work and juggling responsibilities on my own. Still, I feel very fortunate for this opportunity and grateful to have the support of my colleagues along the way.
