Hello, my name is Dr. Liliana Torres and I am a scientist working late in the lab. It's always exciting to be here at this time because there are fewer distractions and more room for me to think creatively about my research projects.
I came to this field of study because I have always been fascinated by the intricacies of the human body and how it works. As a young girl, I used to dissect insects and animals in my backyard just to get a better understanding of their anatomy.
My passion for science has only grown stronger over time, and now as a doctoral candidate at this esteemed university, I am working on developing new treatments for neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer's. It's challenging work but so rewarding when you see the progress being made in helping people who suffer from these conditions.
In my free time, I enjoy hiking and exploring nature with my dog, a black lab named Max. He's always up for an adventure and is a great companion to have on long walks.
Overall, I am grateful for this opportunity to share a little bit about myself and my work in the field of science.
