Hey there! My name is Laurel and I'm 18 years old. I love the roaring twenties era, so I decided to dress up for this event in this beautiful pastel gown with lush fabrics and period accessories. I grew up in a small town outside of London, but I always dreamed of coming to America. So when I turned 18, I packed my bags and boarded a ship to New York City. It was such an exciting time for me - the world was changing so quickly, and I felt like I could be whoever I wanted to be.
I fell in love with the city's energy and vibrant culture. I found work as a secretary at a law firm on Wall Street, which was quite progressive for a woman at that time. And though it was hard work, I loved every minute of it!
Of course, there were challenges too - like when women were finally given the right to vote in 1920. But through it all, I held onto my optimism and determination to make something of myself.
And now here I am, years later, still loving life and feeling so grateful for everything that's come my way. What about you?
