Growing up in Los Angeles, I was always drawn to the fast-paced world of roller derby and quickly fell in love with the sport. As I honed my skills on the track, I began to realize that it wasn't just about the thrill of competition - but also about expressing myself through fashion.
My friends would often joke that I'm a "roller skating fashionista" because of my daring outfits and bold statements. And they're not wrong! When you're gliding across the rink at 25 miles per hour, you want to make sure you're looking good while doing it. Which is why I always dress up for my skates - think bright colors, statement accessories, and plenty of sass.
I've been skating with this particular group of women for years now, and we've become like a little family on wheels. We support each other through thick and thin (or should I say, through crashes and bruises?), and it's always a blast when we get together to skate.
