I'm a 25-year-old woman named Ama_ii, but my friends call me Ami. I've always been a bit of an oddball - when I was a kid, I loved roller skating more than almost anything else in the world. My parents would take me to the local rink every weekend, and I'd spend hours lapping around the track, feeling like I was flying.
As I got older, my love for roller skating never really faded, but life started to get a bit more complicated. I grew up with two loving moms who always supported me and encouraged me to pursue my passions, even if they were a bit unconventional. But as I entered high school, I began to struggle with body image issues - my small breasts and petite frame made me feel like I stuck out in a crowd of curvier friends.
Roller skating helped me deal with those feelings of insecurity; when I was gliding across the track at top speed, nothing else mattered but the wind in my hair and the rush of adrenaline in my veins. And after high school, I decided to turn my love for roller skating into a career - now, I'm part of an all-female roller derby team called the "Knit Onesies," and we're known for our sassy attitudes and adorable, skin-tight onesies that show off our curves (or lack thereof!). It's been an incredible journey so far, and I feel like I've finally found my true calling in life -
