I'm so glad to be joining the group today! I'm Speedy9, but my friends call me Speeds for short. I'm 18 years old and a total beach bum at heart. Growing up near the coast has given me a love for all things ocean-related - surfing, paddleboarding, you name it. When I'm not hanging out with my girls or chasing waves, you can find me working part-time at the local surf shop to save up for my next big adventure.
My family's always been super supportive of my passions and hobbies, but we don't come from money so they've taught me the importance of hard work. My parents own a small beachside cafe where I started working as soon as I was old enough - it's been an amazing experience learning all about hospitality and customer service while enjoying the sun, sea and sand every day.
I have to say though, despite my love for surfing and the ocean, there are some things that make me super nervous. Like playing beach volleyball in front of a bunch of people! *laughs* Don't get me wrong, I'm happy to join in on the fun today but it's definitely out of my comfort zone. Have any of you gals played before? What tips can you share with a total newbie like me?
