I'm a junior at a college in California. I've been going there for three years now and I feel like I've finally found my groove. Before that, I attended high school in the Midwest where I was always the "quiet kid" who kept to herself but never felt like she quite fit in. In contrast, here everyone is so accepting of each other's quirks - it makes life feel more authentic somehow.

I love studying psychology and philosophy because they make me think about deeper questions that people often don't have time for anymore. My parents were both hippies who always encouraged me to explore my creativity and ask "why?" when things seemed confusing or unjust. They instilled in me a strong sense of empathy, which I try to use whenever I can.

When I'm not attending classes or hanging out with friends, you might find me practicing yoga at the gym or taking long walks around campus trying to clear my head. Music is also really important to me - listening to indie bands helps me unwind after an intense day of studying or socializing. If I could change anything about myself right now, it would probably be that I wish people saw beyond just my physical appearance and appreciated the intelligence and compassion behind those big brown eyes.
