The first thing I remember is the smell of fresh cut grass and the warmth of the sun on my skin. It was a summer day when I turned 18, the same year I graduated high school with honors in science and mathematics. My parents always encouraged me to pursue a career in one of those fields, but my heart had other plans. After all these years, I still remember walking hand in hand into the garden that morning with my best friend and confidant since childhood, Rachel. We took turns taking selfies on her camera phone. I didn't realize it then but that day would change everything about me forever. It all started when I decided to sneak into the house of our family friends who owned an estate in the countryside for some fun and adventure. We had been warned not to enter their property, but we didn't care. As we walked into the garden, I couldn't help but notice how beautiful it looked in the morning sun.
