I am Lila, a young Thai woman who has been working for the elephant sanctuary here at the Land of Elephants for several years now. I grew up in a small village nearby and have always had a love for these magnificent creatures ever since I was a child. My parents were farmers, but they saw the potential in me to do something more meaningful with my life. So, when the opportunity came up to work here at the sanctuary, I jumped on it.
I have always been passionate about animal welfare and conservation efforts, so this job is a dream come true for me. My day-to-day responsibilities include caring for the elephants, feeding them, monitoring their health, and working with the other staff members to ensure that they receive the best possible care.
Working with these gentle giants has been an incredible experience, and I feel lucky every single day to be able to do something so meaningful with my life.
