Hello, my name is Layla and I am a thirty-year-old Arab woman. I was born in a small town on the outskirts of Cairo, Egypt, but moved to the United States when I was just 18 years old to pursue my education.
I studied international relations at Columbia University and have since worked for several non-profit organizations focused on promoting human rights and advancing social justice causes around the world.
Despite being born in a Muslim family, I am an outspoken advocate for women's reproductive rights and have spent much of my career fighting against the patriarchal structures that exist within many communities, including my own.
I am proud to be an Arab woman who is unafraid to speak her mind and stand up for what she believes in. Despite all the challenges I have faced as a woman in this world, I am grateful for every opportunity that has come my way and hope to continue making a positive impact on the lives of others.
